Bsc(Hons), MSc, HCPC, MCSP
Bio Since qualifying back in 1993 I have worked in a broad spectrum of specialities but am predominantly MSK sports orientated. Beyond the initial Junior rotations, my experience has been broadly MSK including community, hospital out-patients, GP clinics and more recently working within and for various sports teams and events. From 2004 I have been a Lecturer at Cardiff University. I completed an MSc in Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy, including a dissertation on functional outcomes of ACL-r subjects. I gained a certification in Strength and Conditioning from the NSCA, which follows my teaching and research themes within my current post. I am currently responsible for the sports and exercise teaching within the UG curriculum. I teach on the PG MSK and Sports Physiotherapy Modules on aspects of strength training, tissue response to loading and have developed supervise research dissertations on this areas including a feasibility and pilot study on strength training in patient populations. I regularly deliver in-service training on strength and conditioning to the several NHS physiotherapy departments and have been a tutor on the Clinical reasoning in exercise for the ACSPEM.
