There is increasing evidence to show that exercise has the potential to slow down disease progression in MS. However people living with MS are still significantly less active than the general population. Throughout the trajectory of MS many people with MS struggle with heat sensitivity and neuromuscular fatigue significantly impacting quality of life. Approximately 56% of people with MS will experience a fall in any 3-month period. Causing a significant risk of injury, loss of confidence and function to the individual as well as potential financial implications to the health service. With structural and functional changes to the central nervous system at diagnosis there can be a complex impairment presentation. Research has shown that the mildly impaired can have significant non-motor changes including central vestibular dysfunction very early on. While the more physically impaired will struggle with weakness, saving reactions and postural control. This webinar will cover the latest evidence-based updates, exercise guidelines and key treatment concepts to enable you to deliver impactful rehabilitation for people living with MS.
