Considerations for the Seated Postural Management of Individuals with Neurological Impairment
Aimed at those working with neurological patients looking to enhance their postural management knowledge and skills.
To include:
Identification of postural deviations in sitting affecting the pelvis, lower limbs and trunk.
Discussion of how factors associated with neurological conditions can affect the seated posture (e.g. altered muscle tone, dystonia, tremor, disease progression)
Discuss current research and best practice recommendations in relation to seating and wheeled mobility.
Learning methods: Combination of presentations followed by practical demonstrations /and small group working in breakout rooms. Speakers Amie James and Rhian Davies.
