South West ACPIN has had a busy year with a regular number of events organised. We have welcomed new members to the committee also which has been great.
Events have included a Mytherappy course and a successful ‘Sharing of Local practice’ evening which included posters displayed and a brief presentation from each speaker on local research/audit.
A functional movement disorders lecture in June with Glenn Neilsen proved extremely popular with a record number of attendees and positive feedback.
We are soon to offer a Physical Activity in Stroke and other Long term neurological conditions course at Plymouth University.
We are collaborating with ACPRC to run a joint Critical Care course which will cover a range of topics to share knowledge across both specialities.
Our sub-committee based in Devon and Cornwall are looking at a facilitating a series of evening lectures and we have also invited a Neuropathologist to provide an evening lecture later in 2018.
Our sub-committee also ran the first tweet chat early in 2018 on ‘Falls in the Neurology population’ and our twitter following has grown.
Currently we have 335 followers and are using twitter as a way to engage with members.
