ACPIN Awards

This is an opportunity for ACPIN to formally acknowledge and thank several members who have given exceptional service to ACPIN and for neurological physiotherapy.

Members suggested an awards scheme as a way for ACPIN to thank members for their work. The national committee agreed in 2014 to institute an awards scheme. This scheme was agreed by the membership at its 2015 annual general meeting and the 2016 round was the first round of these awards.

Members are initially invited to submit nominations for awards. Three ACPIN members then join the Chair and Vice-chair on a short-life working party. This meets to consider the nominations for the three awards. The Awards Committee meet twice, and then submit its recommendations to the ACPIN Executive Committee for final ratification.

The awards are:

Distinguished Service Award

This is to acknowledge and thank members who work extremely hard over many years to sustain regional committees and in doing so have made a committed and longstanding contribution to the work of ACPIN at a local or regional level.

Fellowship

This is to recognise ACPIN members who have advanced the specialty of neurological physiotherapy as a whole, by forwarding the boundaries of professional knowledge and furthering the aims of ACPIN at a national or international level.

Honorary Fellowship
